Similarities and differences between VW of different generations
For the first time, the rear passenger doors differed from those in VW Golf, on the platform of which Jetta was usually built. In addition, a new body appeared in a number of bodies – a station wagon. The new products in this model were rain sensors and fully automatic climate control.
The car was slightly smaller than the previous generation in all parameters, but the wheelbase became longer. The main part of the engines was the same as on the previous generation, but 2 new engines appeared: 1.8 liter turbocharged diesel and five -cylinder VR5. The suspension design remained the same, but it became softer and more comfortable.
