Can this baby become the cheapest source of pleasure, especially in the form of a completely new car? It was this issue that occupied engineers when they created the first, then the new Ford KA. The question was found in a numerical answer – 1. 4 million copies and 12 years on the conveyor.
And now the RIMAK of this successful idea came out, which became 4 cm higher and more like a new Fiat 500. This is explained by the fact that under the panels, in fact, there is Fiat 500 – both he and the new Ford KA gather at the same factory in the Gorya, Poland. In the cabin you will find locks and seat belts from Fiat 500, as well as the location of microclimate buttons in the style of Italian crumbs. But everything else is absolutely Ford-Ovsky, in the concept of kinetic design. Outside, Ford KA also does not show signs of kinship with an Italian – a trapezoidal branded radiator grill, uniform optics and rear triangular windows in the old KA style.
Great. But, if you recall, Fiat 500, with the exception of Abarth, does not go in the best way, and therefore there is a reason for excitement for the share of the KA model. Ford carried out hard work on the chassis, performing a number of changes: the stiffness of the springs was reduced by 30 percent, new shock absorbers were installed, which can work with a new torsion beam that increases hardness by 70%, as well as a new rear stabilizer. A stabilizer was also installed in front, steering kinematics was reconfigured to achieve maximum responsiveness and linearity of control. The changes have also affected the changes-now the steering wheel has become a little more sensitive, compared with the 500th.
It turned out something – I would advise Fiat to do the same with the “five hundredth”.
