The Dongfeng Motor Corporation Chinese company demonstrated its new modern flagship Aeolus A9 sedan which uses the PSA Peugeot-Citroen joint venture.
Aeolus A9 was developed on the platform of the French brand Citroen C5. The car shares the production line with Citroen C5 at the Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen assembly plant in the city of Wuan.
It is also equipped with a 1, 8-liter turbocharged gasoline engine supplied to Dongfeng factories by Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co., which is a joint venture between Dongfeng and PSA.
Aeolus A9 is the second Dongfeng sedan, which was developed using PSA technology, and then continues to strengthen the partnership between two car manufacturers. Dongfeng paid 800 million euros for a 14 percent share in the French automotive company in 2014 as part of the financial crisis.
In March last year, the state car began the sale of a new compact sedan Aeolus L6, which was built on the Citroen C4 platform. The sedan is also assembled Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen.
Dongfeng, based in the city of Wuan, is a leading manufacturer of Chinese trucks. Dongfeng has begun the production of cars under the Aeolus brand in 2009.
In addition to A9 and L6, Dongfeng under the brand of Aeolus products includes a mixture of compact sedans S30 and A60, AX7 crossover and E30L electric car.
At the beginning of the year, more precisely in January, sales of Aeolus brand grew by 37 percent, in the annual count to 20. 557 due to high demand for AX7 crossover.
