Journalists published the first photos of the Ford Ecosport compact SUV, which is currently being developed by the company’s engineers. Initially, the company was tested by the updated Fiesta model, but now Ford employees are testing a full -fledged prototype.
The model turned out somewhat shorter and lower than the same Ford Kuga, more reminiscent of a compact version of the car.
An updated SUV will receive a new ecoboost engine 1, 0 liter.
As the company’s management notes, the main market for the model will be primarily developing countries: Russia, India, China and the countries of Latin America. The first time the model will appear at the International Automobile Exhibition in Delhi at the beginning of next year, after a few months the first cars should appear in dealers around the world.
It is worth noting that at an exhibition in Los Angeles in November 2011, the company introduced the updated version of Ford Kuga. The size of the SUV is completely “modest” for the model of this class: the wheelbase is 2618 mm, the clearance is 213 mm, 4437 mm in length, 1805 mm in width, 1724 mm in height.
The driving force will be a turbocharged engine with a volume of 1, 6 liters and hopeless engines with a volume of 2, 0 and 2, 5 liters. It is also possible to install a V6 of a motor with a volume of 3, 0 liter and a capacity of 240 horsepower. All this will work with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
