Jenson Batton will not participate in races in Formula 1 of the 2017 season after it was announced that he was taking on the embassy role with the McLaren team, signing the contract for two years in this position.
It was also announced that the promising young driver of Belgium and the current reserve driver of McLaren, Shtoffel Vandoorne, will replace the 2009 world champion in the British team.

Jenson Batton, whose quarry covers 17 seasons, which gave-today-297 grains at starts, 15 victories and one title of world champion, said: “I am very glad that I will remain as a key member of the McLaren-Honda team. In fact, I am delighted about my new role, whose offer I received as a result of a number of in -depth chats with Ron (Dennis, General Director of McLaren and executive chairman). In particular, I look forward to becoming even more deeply involved in the efforts of the team to achieve success.
“I love McLaren-Honda-I am firmly convinced that it is created by a group of the best people with whom I have ever worked-and I have no intention of ever driving another team of Formula 1.
“To make it clear, I’m not very far away,” Jenson Button continued. “I entered into a contract for both 2017 and 2018, I intend to work on auto-development, and I am sure that I am a garden for the wheel of a new car at some point”.
Jenson Batton will do a lot of work in the scenes, working with the development of a car in a simulator and will maintain its suitability levels if it is needed on races.
During the summer break, Jenson Button carefully thought about his future in sports, and came to the conclusion that he needed to take a time out. After a conversation with Dennis, this was considered as the best option for both sides of Jenson Button and the team.
Jenson Batton becomes the second veteran of the championship, who announced his plans after Felipe’s mass also announced his care before training on Friday.
