The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation decided to transfer the deadline for the obligatory equipment of commercial vehicles by tachographs for the period from 2014 to 2016. This was reported the day before “Izvestia”. It was originally planned to make tachographs obligatory already in the current year, but the agency provided a deferment after it turned out that equipment with characteristics that satisfy the stated requirements, not a single enterprise in Russia is produced. According to the departmental order, all trucks and buses that are used for commercial transportation of goods and passengers will be equipped with these devices.
For buses and trucks used to transport dangerous goods, as well as trucks in which the maximum permitted mass exceeds 15 tons, tachographs will make mandatory from the beginning of April next year. For trucks with a permitted mass of 12 tons, which are not used to transport dangerous goods, the deadline is scheduled for September 1 of the next year, and for trucks, the mass of which lies from 3, 5 tons to 12 tons, with which tachographs are tachographs will become mandatory, moved to April 1, 2015. Transport, which is equipped with tools for monitoring labor and rest modes, or does not have international tolerance for transportation, will need to be equipped with tachographs no later than January 1, 2016.
