The German company Mercedes decided on the date of the premiere of the new car S-Class. The novelty in the back of the sedan will be presented in the spring in 2014, and the premiere of the station wagon will take place a little later, to Motorshow in Paris, which will be held in September. This news was reported by the authoritative journal WorldCarfans, referring to its own sources in a car company.
According to Auto Week, the novelty will become much easier than the previous model thanks to the new platform. Note that the same platform is used in Mitsubishi Lancer cars. After such a decision of the leading engineers of the company, the car will be able to compete with the dynamic characteristics with the BMW 3-series.
The model will be built on the MRA platform, which has become wider and longer than the one used in the previous generation. The chassis in the car was made of light materials, which significantly reduced the weight of the sedan. The most complete configuration will receive turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines, as well as a hybrid installation. Some of the modifications will be equipped with a full -wheel drive system.
Earlier it was already reported that the new generation of Mercedes S-Class will receive a diesel engine, which are already equipped with some models of Renault Megane and Scenic. According to the Blogautomobile magazine, the diesel engine will have 130 horsepower and volume 1. 6-liter. According to unofficial data, this motor will be available on the initial versions of the C-class and will work exclusively paired with a manual gearbox.
